What was the name of that store?
Didn't someone get caught breaking in there and killing the deer?

The only one I remember was in Lettsworth. Unique old country store owned by Roland Landry. Had several big deer and yes someone shot a couple. Neat place that brings back great memories.

In the 90’ the gas station in Erwinville on 190 had one. It is close to New Roads, it might be the place you are thinking of

The place I'm thinking of was there in the mid-late 80's.
Looking at the map I thought it might have been Purpera's on the corner of Hwy 1 and 418.
I also remember a store that had a huge moose head mounted on the back wall.

La Xpress. Its still there. The deer aren't. They were right behind Andre's Cracklins.

Yep,Mr Landry's place. I just text my mom. She said she thought it was closer to Simmesport though.

Used to drive by there on highway 1 going back and forth to LSU. Would stop and get a coke and look at the deer. Late 80’s

I would always stop there and look at the monster bucks on my way to and from home from college.

The biggest deer he had in there, someone cut the fence and killed it with a tire tool one nite.

I remember that huge alligator snapper they had mounted in there.
