Went and shot it this morning and took her home with me. Fits good. Shoots good. Feels good. Got a 1yr old, well kept $600 gun for $475. Thanks for all yalls input... Now, off to shoot some skeet and practice. I haven't shot a shotgun since before Katrina, hell, actually it was likely just a year or two after my Dad passed in 1991 that I last shot one. I think I'll start off with some 2 3/4" loads first as to not abuse my shoulder.

Looking to get my first shotgun since I lost all mine in Katrina. Looking at the M3500. I've read a bunch of online reviews and it seems to be well received. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with one personally? I've held one at academy and it fits me well. How's it shoot? I've read that the inertia system is a bit different than a traditional gas system and takes a little bit to get used to.

I have one and really like it, its 4 years old now and goes boom every time I pull the trigger with no issues. I shoot 3s and 3.5s during duck season no issues and I clean it at the end of season. for a budget gun its great. its heavier then the high end shotguns but still performs. I think I paid $650 for mine.

I have a 2 year old M3000. Like whodat said it goes boom. It doesn't shoot 3.5s but I still use it for ducks, geese and deer.

I have the 3000 version and absolutely love it. I've ran a few thousand rounds through it and the only issue i've had is running Rio Target Loads. They just don't like to cycle all the time. Gotta be the shells though. I've ran a few thousand of combined winchester, remington, and federals through it with no issue. The 3 separate times i've tried the Rio's have been the only times i've ever had an issue. For the $600 it has already more than paid for it's place in the safe. Good luck and congrats on the new gun.

Thanks everyone, and especially thanks to you, Chris. It's good to hear a privatey owned firearms dealer (read: not a box store, minimum wage salesman) would recommend it. What everyone is saying here is similar to what I've been reading all over. Not going to have all the bells and whistles but it gets the job done with no issues and is an all around good gun for an entery level price. The one I'm looking to get is the all black with synthetic stock model. 28" barrel. A friend is looking to upgrade to a higher end gun and is offering his 1 yr old M3500 to me for $500 (new all black models go for $599 in the stores). I haven't even tried any negotiating with him yet but I feel even at $500, it's a good deal.

Thanks again.

Never had an issue with mine. If I had one complaint, it would be that it's a little on the heavy side.

Guy in our duck blind had this gun and killed by far the most and never has had a single issue with his. Absolutely loves it and looking to get one myself this coming season. Everyone else besides he and myself have either BE2's or Maxus. Personally believe it is man behind the gun more than gun itself but my two cents.

not much to it and is a little heavier but not noticeably so

I have the M3000, only difference between that and the M3500 is that the 3000 doesn't shoot 3.5, but I love my 3000. Stoeger has come a long ways recently

We do a friendly competition at the range every Wednesday. Once I'm back to being proficient, I'll put him to the test. He can't cheat in front of a dozen other guys.

Hell yeah. We were back up and running within 2 weeks. We've even added an overhang over the entire shotgun line and added 2 more shooting benches to the rifle line, giving us 17 shooting lanes at the rifle line now.

2nd update... As per Pepp's request...

Gun shoots great. Had a few hang ups towards the end of shooting where the next round wouldn't feed up and would stay "in the belly" under the bolt. I've read the gun sometimes has issues cycling 2 3/4" shells because of the inertia system.

I was very happy with my shot to "kill" ratio considering its been 25+ years since I shot a shotgun. Nailed the first 2 inbound shots. Then started sending a simultaneous inbound and outbound pair then a rabbit if I was successful with taking down the 2 birds. I'd never had success shooting rabbits way back when but I nailed quite a few of them today.

Shoulder is pretty sore. Not used to the abuse of a 12ga, even with only 2 3/4" shells. And three boxes did me in. Feeling better now though.

Overall, I loved it. I'll be out there Wednesday to embarrass myself in front of all the older range officers.

I have one in real Tree max5 and love it. My only complaint is sometimes it won't cycle some 2-3/4" target loads but I can't usually tell when I shoot them that I get a light one and it's not enough power to cycle in the next round.
