Looking for new saw. MS 311 or MS 362. What is OB opinion.

Don't remember the number but I have the mid weight farm boss. Works great.

You can't go wrong with any Stihl or Husqvarna, IMO. The rest are just pissing money away.

ms 362 its the pro version and will last you the rest of your life. the 311 doesnt even come close. Matter of fact the 362 will out perform the 390. It is the best saw in the 60 cc class.

Is it worth the extra 150 for heavy homeowner use?

You can go wrong with Stihl in anything they make IMO

Yes it is. The adj. oiler is worth that alone. The 311 doesnt offer it. Plus if you put a 24 inch bar on that 362 it will do wonders for the back because you arent bent over all day. the 311 doesnt pull a 24 worth a crap. The longer you run that 362 the better it gets.

Thought 311 did have adj. oiler.
Posted on 11/22/11 at 8:36 pm to PoorOtis
Mine gets light use and has never backed up from anything.

What about 391 for 130 less almost same HP.
Posted on 11/22/11 at 8:39 pm to PoorOtis
my 18" and my dad's 16 inch been through a ton of abuse and have tens of thousands of cuts between them. Starts right up and runs like champ. Love em.

Just your pro models have adj. oiler. The 362 is still a more powerful saw then the 390. Not too mention the weight difference. the 362 is made too use every day the 390 and 311 models are not. It will last you a life time. I have ran all of them, and the 362 is by far the better saw.

The 311 mite have an adj. oiler but it doesnt have the output of the 362 not even close. I have a 290, 310 wich doesnt have adj. oiler and a 361 wich is the model before the 362.

Checked on it. It does come with adj. oiler. What do you know about the new strato charged engines. The 361 didn't have it but the 362 now does. Wondering if they will hold up in the long run or are just EPA bullsh@t.

They have been out a couple of years now and from my experience they are a little heavier but have greater torque then the previous saws. A good site to do research on them is www.arboristsite.com. You cant go wrong with the 362 matter of fact husky and stihl are both going to strato motors because of the epa. I will guarantee you that you will be more than happy with it. What have you ran in the past?

044 Magnums in the past on jobs I used to do. Never owned one. Would be overkill for what I need, but awesome saws.

And owned an 039, but it got stolen by some thugs.

Yes they were. Get the 362. She wont wake up till about 7 or 8 tanks. Very impressive saw.
