I stumbled across this beauty in another thread and I’ve been a little bit obsessed since then. Any opinions from the board? Online reviews seem good. I’d also be interested in your alternative “dream” hunting rifles in a similar price range ($1500-2000). Eventually I’m gonna bite the bullet and buy something like this.

I want one in a PRC, steel barrel, in the other color scheme.

Not really the same species as that rifle, a winchester M70 extreme weather in .338 win mag with the barrel cut down to 22" would be mine.

We have this Mossberg MVP-LC in .308. This is a stock pic of it.

Why shorten the barrel?

Its 26" from the factory. The .338 doesn't need that much barrel.

I ordered one today so I'll see if it actually is too long or not. I have a hard time believing it isn't, I didn't really care for carrying a 24" .300 win mag around the woods

I never understood the military and police infatuation with Mossberg products.

I was always told as a kid that they are cheap Walmart pieces of shite, especially their shotguns.

The couple I did handle years ago all had shitty actions and felt uncomfortable in the hand.

I can't be the only one right?

My only experience is with their shotguns. It never fails whenever we invite someone to bird hunt they spend half the time fixing jams or dealing with issues. I know a few people that are proud to have them and love them but I’ve never had solid experiences with them.
