Spotted fawn in April in South MS

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this fawn still with spots? Normally we start seeing new fawns in August. Not sure I’ve seen one with spots still in April. Do you think this one dropped in December or January which would mean the doe was bred in April or May. Or do you think it never fully shed its summer coat due to the moderate winter?

My guess is it was born late summer last year and hasn't fully lost spots yet.

No doubt they breed here (Natchez) into March and April.
Had one in front of me first week of December

moderate winter has nothing to do with shedding coat... that's eons of adaptation.... could be a fawn from a doe from a coastal zone where they breed in sept/oct.

what part of South MS? I hunt in SW Miss (Tylertown area) and our rut was very (early to mid Jan), last year I had spotted fawns in December
normal gestation is about 200 days
and a fawn will keep spots for 3-4 months

This is in Perry County.
Last yr, we had our first newborn on camera on Aug 25th as seen below, so it was probably born in the middle of the month which puts the mama being bred towards the end of Jan. This is typical for our rut. This means "normally" for this area, you should see spotted fawns from late Aug through Dec.
This fawn from the original post is on camera on April 16th still with spots and from the looks of them, its at the end of the 3-4 month period. Which means born in Jan and bred in between May and June. Just seems odd to me. I've been hunting this area for over 30yrs but have only started running cameras for about the last 10 or so. This is the latest I've seen spots.
