I've told police to stop pointing their gun at me. That's about it.
At the range, I'm in my zone.

We are friends with an old Army guy. He was top brass. He comes to our house and picks up my handgun and starts looking at it, waving it around, pointing it in the direction of people. It is shocking. If we ever said anything, he'd never come around again.

Now when he comes over, all guns are out of sight. Worse than a damn toddler. Don't touch other peoples' shite without asking.

Is this the thread where everybody brags about how safe they are with their guns?

No chambered rounds for me when handing over guns or maneuvering.

Handguns are always loaded and carried. So that's different.

No chambered rounds for us until we are in the deer stand or blind. I was brought up hunting by an uncle who was anal about guns safety. He owned a company and brought customers hunting all the time, so he didn't always know people extremely well. Plus lots of drinking. So all guns had bolts open and were kept in a separate shed that was locked when not hunting. Guess I learned from that extreme. Riding to the stand with loaded guns just seems foreign to me. If I ever missed out on a deer I jumped heading to the stand, well that was just my luck. It was our job to take the customers to the stand, so I often had to politely bring up the camp rules.

No rounds in the chamber of a handgun unless it's on me, or locked away (have a young one so I dont trust leaving it anywhere).

I’ve explained to a guy at the range that if he pointed his gun in my direction again that I’ll be pointing mine back.

It’s always a zoo right before hunting season.
