WTF does it mean when someone posts a picture on social media then follows it up with:

@browningfirearms @sitkagear @gunnerkennels @rnt_calls @jebschokes @birdstrap @hevishotammo #ricelandcustomcalls

Is this some kind of sponsorship thing, or does it just tag them so they'll notice?
If you can't tell, I don't tweet.

sometimes the company will share the photo and give credit to the poster. can get a lot of likes from doing that.

I'm not a big tweeter or instagramer, but usually this is exactly what it is. They are either people sponsored by these companies or hoping to be. A lot of outdoor companies will have "pro-staffer" programs were people advertise for them in exchange for free shite. It's where we are nowadays.

The key to bragging is to be subtle. It's a lost art.

My grandfather and his brother used to skull frick the mallards in the MS River backwaterm

Old Jon boat
25 Merc two stroke
Surplus WW II fatigues camo
Handload shells (2 3/4")
Hand carved decoys
No face mask
Homemade calls

I consider myself a decent duck hunter. If they were here they would consider me a flaming homosexual.

Some of those young cucks are pro-staffers. The "pro" does not mean professional. It means promotional staff. The more likes and views they get, the more stuff they get. If they are lucky, they will get a new barrel sticker or a new duck call to blow in their high school parking lot

This is hilarious. I just saw this on FB. I'm certain we are talking about the exact same person. That clown ain't sponsored. He just likes everyone to know that he has the "best" stuff.

Not gonna say anything bad about him - he or some of his friends may post on here. Just wondered about the tags on every picture.

Well, I'd expect so. You can actually get it done.

Or it's to get that companies attention for a repost etc.

Subtle brag....had Hawken fishing repost a king salmon I caught this fall on IG.

And I don't wear flatbills

Yeah all these guys want to pro staff everything duck hunting now. YouTube and Instagram are a mess with this stuff. Thankfully I was taught how to hunt years back by the older generation or I could be like these new guys. They seem to think you have to have a hoodie, a go pro, yeti x infinity, face paint, barrel stickers, and Instagram piles to be considered a hunter.

it's a simple way to promote products and brands we use and will allow anyone to click the tag to be taken to that particular vendor, which, if we want our favorite brands to stay in business its never a bad idea to brag on them.

I do agree that sometimes people take it way too far and have a paragraph of #'s & @'s that can get annoying.

Would be hard for me to do since I barely know what brands half of my shite is. Hell I don't even know what model #BearArchery bow I shoot or what type arrows

I just know my arrows are about $6 from Pats hardware

Don't need a model....just the brand.

Most of the people I see doing it are doing it cause they think they are some sort of badass pro wannabe trying to act like they are better than everyone else. But there are exceptions.

Sometimes I've seen where brands will do giveaways. My cousin's husband posts stuff now and then with crazy tags on it. Some promotion where if you tag it within a certain period, usually a week/month etc they will select a random winner at the end. Or select a few pictures posted and let people vote on the picture.

I'm definitely the exception and I personally see a lot if it and most of it seems that way to me. There are the try hards for sure though.

I also don't really care what others think either so it's not really something I waste my time worrying about.

I'll tell you what chaps my arse.

I see my cousin with several ducks wrapped around his neck in a pic. Later that day I see him in another and it's 6 dudes with the exact amount of ducks he "wore" earlier in front of all of them. He had the same clothes on etc and face paint.

I haven't busted his balls yet but I think my cousin tried taking credit for something he didn't do. That's fricking stupid.
