Love my Marlin 30-30
Got a red dot on it and I have killed some hogs with it. Let my brother borrow it to kill deer. I want to put a set of open sights back on it. I love the way it carries, tosses up, and shoots.

They're cool as hell. Idk what I'd do with it other than look at it and shoot cans, but I want it.

You can't replace the ole time sex appeal of the lever action with any of your other rifles.

1. yeah i thought they were cool about 45 years ago, course back then we didn't have much to compare to.
2. cowboys had em, cool..
3. yes, i can replace them with multiple guns, sex ain't as important anymore.

Only thing I don't like is how heavy they are. I like the marlin better.

lever action presents something different to a typical modern day collection of rifle instead of ANOTHER bolt action rifle with a different marketed name brand on the outside and split fricking hairs over which one you're going to take to the woods that day.

I have 2 deer hunting guns left that i've kept.. Both are 7 mags...Both have Pentax Lightseeker 2's on them in 16X.... One is TC Encore, One is Rem 700... I use Encore 99% of the time. I grab bullets out of 1 box...
Exactly where is my big split hairs decisions?

ok chad... my point is, there are better options out there today.. the "brush gun" stuff was bullshite. If you think a lever action is sexy and important to you, this is Amurika, buy it, be proud.
I used to have it, and was proud to have it.. I just don't need a lever action gun anymore that's good up to about 150... other than to hang on the wall to remind me of the old days.. fair enough?

well i wouldnt have that little piece of shite then, if you're hunting underwater... I'd rather have an encore.. open that baby up and breathe through it like Tarzan used to do with the reeds..Encore might save your life one day..
