$194.95 shipped

I didn't want to put it off any longer with all the crazy crap this admin is doing so I bought while it was still in stock.

I still need the rock island kit and planning to upgrade to 3 dot site. I know y'all love that nice trigger kit but it's like another $150.

Any other suggestions? Was that a decent deal?

Dos and donts?

I talked a buddy into buying the same frame so we'll be putting these building these together.

My FFL is already getting my AR so I'll pick this up at the danger time.

Is it stripped? How much fitting is required (if any)?

All 1911s require fitting. I'd be weary of any parts maker that says no fitting is required. Best advice is to get a dykem pen and take your time.

find a good smith to massage it together they dont just go together like an AR and a good smith can make the average trigger great

GREAT Frame,Easy build,SUPER Service from SARCO

A good project frame but a little rough.

The only dislike that I can mention is that the frame came with an ejector and ejector pin mounted to the frame but super-glued on. I removed them by heating them with cigarette lighter, removed both carefully and replaced them with a better quality replacement. I used only one of the RIA ejector pins. All in all not a bad situation -- just remember to take your time when building. I threw away the RIA ejector; it was of very poor quality.

Good quality military spec frame. I have purchased several. I did some minimal fitting or smoothing on a couple, but it was not required for functionality.

+1
a 1911 is a piece of art, not a modular system
They belong in the Louvre

I built a 2011 in 9mm. It was my quarantine project.

I learned tremendous amount building it but there is so much stuff when working on a 1911.

There are different types of feed ramps on the barrel. The firing pin retainer actually took me the longest to get fitted properly.
The ejector and also the extractor have to be fitted to get proper ejection.

You may want to consider buying Wilson parts for the gun. I've used them in a couple of guns and they're great. Also, consider getting yourself the Ed Brown sear jig. It's used to stone the sear. Between that and stoning the hammer and trigger bar, you can turn a good trigger into a great trigger.

The good thing is there is a TON of information out there on building them.

I want to build a 1911 at some point but not in a rush right now.

i definitely dont want a loose slide. been watching videos and getting the slide perfect metal-to-metal seems to be the trickiest part.
