Found this guy trying to shelter from the storm behind my grill on the back patio. It's about 3ft long

Have you been noticing a lot of rat/mice droppings lately??

if so they will soon stop ...if you leave the snake alone

Thanks. I figured it was either a rat snake or water snake. I left it alone. I've never seen rats or rat shite around my house before. Now I know why

One of the good ones, just an ole rat snake. I have one that lives in my water well house and i no longer have mice or rat nests in water well house.

The correct identification is a Rat Snake.

Harmless and good for keeping away pests.

Grills , bar b q Pitts are havens for mice /rats with all the drippings etc, so for the snake it is kind of like hunting over a baited field
