til you get a good shot of the head. None of the snakes in those other pics have a wide head like the one in the op.

Not needed. The pattern and tail length/diameter eliminate cottonmouth.

Plenty nonvenomous species will do this. Here’s the blue-striped garter we got in Florida doing the same…

Happens all the time. Head shape is not a reliable indicator of species.

I wouldn’t argue against Midland, and EBR is certainly in their range.

I've yet to see a snake that SOMEBODY couldn't make into a copperhead.

This one appears to be Nerodia Sipedon like others have said. The Nerodia juveniles can be a little tricky though, with only photos to go by, and no knowledge of your area.
