Black racer.
Sometimes you can get a coach whip that is really dark and doesn't turn color and looks a lot like a black racer

The buttermilks are the meanest snakes I've been around. They make diamond backed water snakes seem mild.

I got excited and thought this was a buttermilk when I first saw it (I’ve never seen one), but the spots on him were just scars. Just a black racer that was pretty beat up. In fact, that’s how I recognized him when I caught him again this morning.
