Has anyone had their dog vaccinated with the rattlesnake vaccine AND has dog been bitten by rattler/moc/copperhead; what happen to the dog?
Anyone’s dog have a reaction to the vaccine?
My golden took a strike in the paw. Not sure if the snake type. Likely a moc. Dog is doing fine. Guess it was a defensive strike. No anti-venom required. Steroid and Benadryl.

Well, have three dogs in Texas. Lots of rattle snakes.
All three, 95 pound lab, 40 pound boarder collie and 15 pound wiener dog.
Had initial shots last year and booster this year. No negative effects on any of the dogs.
Luckily, they have not been bitten.
People ask me why do the wiener dog. Because she is a natural hunter and killer. Always looking for mice. I figure she is prob more likely to run into one than the bigger dogs.
I know several people from surrounding ranches, they all swear by them and have had dogs bitten several times.
It isn’t a cure, just minimizes the effect so you can get to the vet.

My two play hell with the garter snakes in our yard. I pry they never come you on a venomous snake.

We gave the vaccine a couple of years ago, hunting buddies wife is a vet. She has changed her tune on the vaccine, said recent data shows it hurts the dog more than helps.
