Hello OB, I’m looking for a place in the BR area who has a good smoked sausage, something comparable to the smoke flavor of Teet’s in Ville Platte. I like a heavy smoke flavor, but likely won’t have the time to run out to Ville Platte this week.
Thanks OB!
Thanks OB!

You can buy teet's online so that's an option.
Kartchner's in Krotz Springs is a good bit closer than Teet's and is my personal favorite Andouille.

My mom brought me 10lbs of sausage from Teet's yesterday.
(sorry -- don't know where to find something comparable in BR)

Heavy smoke is relative but if you want to go to either the Pennington Farmers market ( Thursday) or the BR Downtown market ( Saturday) then try Cutrer's Smoked sausage ( Paw Gaylons (sp)). Its all I use.

Is this the one they sell at Ralphs labeled "French Settlement Sausage"?

No. Porche’s is a smokehouse with a small storefront.
Porche’s will probably have a stronger smoke flavor, but I prefer Junior’s Meat Market, also in French Settlement.

Teets sausage has changed with the new store. It has dropped in quality, but it is still good

I find that the Jambalaya Shoppe brand sausage that they sell in supermarkets in-and around the Gonzales area has a heavy smoke flavor.

This.
Every time I go that way or to my camp I stop at teets and restock on meats.
Going Saturday to brush blinds. Plan to stop for a couple boxes of sausage and a few pounds of tasso.
