I buy my terramar long wool underwear on campmor at a discount.

I've used it for years. Good stuff. You can get the upper with silk lining.

I paid $100 for top and same for long johns for smartwool. That was 15 yrs ago ... not sure there is anything else in my closet thats 15 yrs old. Might be pricey but it lasts and is a good value

You get what you pay for in base layers. It’s all expensive. Sw is a slight premium.

It last a long time if you take care of it properly. Look for mostly wool products. The synthetics suck and stink IMO

ETA I have smart wool. UA, REI, and Patagonia.

Sw and REI are better than other two by far IMO. I haven’t worn other two since purchase of sw and REI

Sometimes Costco has socks and base layer merino wool for cheap. Good quality stuff.

I bought a size XXL merino sweater from good will and shrunk it. 5 bucks and works great.

Also have some merino 365 from Amazon and love them.

Some good sales at REI right now on Smart Wool.

Prices are normally high, but just shop the sales and you get great deals.
