Simmons in Bastrop
Making a trip there tommorrow for the first time. I'm within an ear shot across the border in Arkansas so the trip isn't that bad.

Looking for holsters particularly, plus I may pick up some ammo.

How are their prices compared to say, Academy Sports and other big outdoor stores?

I also need some sight screws for a Glock. Would they even have those in stock?

I really don't know how big the place is, but I reckon it's pretty huge from how they market.

Holy shite man, you are within ear shot in Arkansas and you have never been through Bastrop and seen the mega store called Simmons? Do you live in a cave?

I'm near Texas so I dont venture to NE LA much unless I'm passing through.

Just never occurred to me with Bass Pro being so close.

Almost Academy big but all hunting. No regular clothing, weights, or cooking shite. Many guns, knives, hunting clothes etc. They have an in store gunsmith.

Simmons is great, but I grew up not too far from the Spotted Dog and I can vouch for that place. It's awesome and the employees are super nice. Its about 30 miles south of Monroe so It would be a little bit of a drive for you.

Big store, Strops largest non govt employer now, employees aren’t particularly friendly, they’ll surprise you with a hard to find weapon.

I'd imagine their holsters would be mass produced. I like the customs, but the wait is longer. As far as ammo, who knows since it's hard to find ANYwhere.

Been a while since I've been there, but prices then were comparable to Academy and less than Bass Pro.

I'd call first and see.

Yeah, it is. I'd say it's bigger than Bossier BPS.

From what I gather, a large portion of their sales now come from Amazon. If you’re close to Simmons and want to know a price, you can probably get pretty close by looking it up on Amazon. Or you can check their website.

Maybe you can see the "lady" that does the ads tits while you are there? That would be worth the drive.

re: Simmons in Bastrop
I made the trip today. I must say, I was impressed. Best strictly hunting/shooting store I've ever been to. They didn't have all the bloat that Bass Pro does... Everything in stock there was something I wanted.

Although they didn't have much AK accessories (nobody really does anymore), their gun selection was off the charts. Never seen FN rifles in person before, but they had some. Also had some top flight ARs as well. I could have spent $1,000 there without blinking.

I'll definetly be going back soon. It's a very easy drive from my area.

I still can't belive a town that size has a shop that big. Did it start small and just keep getting bigger and bigger or what?? It's insane.

That won't buy too much there, especially right now

Jeff picked that location next to one of the IP entrances for a reason. Them mill baws helped makes that place what it is today.
