Shell cycling problem on Browning Silver Hunter 20g

My sons gun, a gift from FIL.
It will stop cycling shells after 10-20 rounds It is easy to break down and everytime the cylinders/ports are so black and so fouled up. We are shooting 7/8 shot low brass. The gun will also close the chamber after the last shell. I clean it scrub it lube it and after a short while we are back to tearing it down.
Is this common with this gun? Is there something after market that we need to do?
We clean it with a 3 in 1 cleaner/lube spray bottle.
Any help I appreciate it

If it's a new gun, you might want to run a box of heavier loads through it to break it in.

If an older gun may want to look at the recoil spring.

Are you getting lube in the ports? I'm pretty sure that you specifically need to keep any type of lube/oil away from the gas port because it can build up and cause problems.
I feel your pain though, I have an A400 20ga that I just got back from Beretta for the 2nd time! Hopefully it runs after this.
ETA: If it's cycling after you clean it, but jamming after firing a few times it could be a gas port problem. I don't know about the Brownings, but some people have to drill out the gas ports to get the pressure required to work the bolt.
I would contact Browning first. They may take care of it for you.

Good items, I have looked online as well. Probably a gas port issue like you mentioned. We will break the whole thing down and give it a good once over with light oil.
Shells are winchester field loads. Low brass

Those guns don't require much oil. They also don't like the cheap, light loads. If you'll go to the heavy dove or target load, that is usually the fix.

Having to shoot heavy isn't a fix, imo. And if it's cycling while freshly clean, then jamming, sounds like it's likely a problem with the firearm.
