Has anyone done this with any success?

The idea is that you put out some dirty laundry in your stand spots and replace weekly so your scent is in the area year-round, so when you get in the stand/blind, your scent doesn't raise any red flags for them.

I've never tried it but I'd bet it would work. My buddy has 5 acres that backs up to 40 more acres. He lets me hunt his land and I have permission from the other land owner to go on their property to scout/retrieve deer (not hunt on their 40 acres).

My buddy's kids are out there all the time on the trampoline, their cat walks through the woods on his property, etc. I have hunted when his kids are playing out there and when they weren't, and I've seen no difference in the deer on the property.

Although there aren't any clothes out there, I'd guess the deer are used to the noise and their scent, and that's why I haven't seen a difference.

I know a guy who leaves a radio on, seems to work well.

I like things to be as wild and as natural as possible. Maybe I am just old school.

I've heard of it. Never tried. I've also heard of people hanging a manakin head in the window of a box blind so something is always there "looking around" from a deer's perspective.

Another theory along these lines... My main box stand about 200 yards from a major highway and my buddy has a stand that backs up to the I-20 right of way. We've both noticed you can get away with making more noise compared to secluded stands we hunt elsewhere.

That would definitely be enough to creep out any humans in the area.

I haven't but I'd put money on it that it works.

I've heard of hanging a paint can to give the same illusion. I've also heard leaving a radio on for stands close to the camp

I hunt 40 acres. The land owner behind me divided his 80 acres into 10 acre plots. Now the locals, some 300yds away, are always outside shooting, joy riding tractors, chainsawing seemingly the last hour of every hunting day. The deer hardly lift their heads. They 100% get used to the same noises/patterns but it's a morale killer for me, I won't get used to it.

A little different than you're suggesting but I've heard of people storing their hunting gear in corn bags when they're not hunting.
