How often do you water them after you plant them. Trees are about 6/7 feet tall. Farm i bought them from said leave them staked till next fall and water twice a week

Any other suggestions

About right. Now for a trick. Get a 5 gallon bucket for each tree. Drill a 1/4" hole in the side at the bottom. Just leave the bucket at the tree. Fill it up and go to the next one. Don't have to wait and you know that you are putting 5 gallons of water per tree.

I’m looking to purchase some small saplings. Where did you buy yours from? Anyone know a good place in southeast La?

After planting a couple hundred pecan trees, one has to work smarter. My set up is a 300gallon tank on a trailer with a 12V pump. Just pump the water from the tank. Have a 120V pump at my pond that I fill the tank with.

Use miracle grow about once a month for the first year in that 5 gallon bucket of water for the first year,,,,,then after the first year hit them 2/3 times a year with 8-8-8 or 13-13-13 around the drip line (outside edge of the canopy) bore 4-6 holes in the drip line area about a foot deep (use a cheap 1” spade bit from harbor freight) and pour that fertilizer in those holes, they’ll grow their asses off.

That’s a great idea. I have a 50 gallon water tank in my side by side that I use.

Sounds about right. Shouldn't have to water them for long.

Water them in June/July/August/Sept if you want.

I'm not a fan of Sawtooths, don't see the appeal.

Depends on the OP's application. If he lives in a subdivision with postage stamp size lots, I agree as there is better foliage for curb appeal.

If he lives in the country and looking for an alternative food source for deer, sawtooths grow very fast and the acorns attract deer like a magnet.

...and usually drop all at once in Mid September. I'd just as soon have persimmons then and other hard mast falling later.
