Just bought my little man one and ordered a Vortex Diamondback tactical 3x9x40 scope. This is one nice little rifle for the price

I have them in 7-08 and 6.5cm. Both low recoil. 7-08 is considerably less than 6.5cm comparatively.

My first 6.5 was an axis. Stock feels cheap but light and accurate. I’ll never get rid of it.

I have only shot the Axis a few times but found the trigger pull to be a bit heavier than any other rifle I've shot. Not sure if it was stock or if the owner had adjusted it. Can anyone give some opinion on the trigger pull compared to other brands?
I'm looking at getting a youth/compact model rifle for a 7 year old. Looking for a rifle that has a short length of pull.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

The non Accutrigger models do have a crappy trigger, but it can be easily fixed cheap with this

I own 2 and have owned a few more and all shot under MOA with hand loads. They are really great guns for the price.

My Axis .308 liked to not shoot when I pulled the trigger. Just constant light strikes. Primer would be dimpled but not ignite. I got rid of it.

I had a 243 in pink camo for my daughter. Sucker would stack hornady factory ammo on top of each other as good as my custom gun. That being said stock is cheap and flimsy and the finish will rust in a safe without a ton of oil on it.
For the trigger ,, pull it down and clip about half off of the spring, put it back together and try it clip more if needed. I clipped about a full curl off of mine.
I’m not a gunsmith and make sure you drop it on the butstock hard after to verify it will not fire inadvertently.

I have the Axis in 6.5, great rifle. I like my old M70 better, but that Axis is an accurate easy handling gun.

For a rifle at that price point I'm not surprised they have the occasional QC issue.

If the 7mm-08 has less recoil, it’s because the 7mm-08 is a heavier rifle.
