Holding off till this evening, when the wife and I are heading to the river to target some post spawn flatheads, blues and channels. Will post pics on OB if we get any good ones.

Good luck and safe trips to all my OB brethren. Keep your lines wet and your white cans cold.

Nice! I'm going to try my luck tomorrow near the Sabine. Never fished there. Launching at Nibletts Bluff Park. Gonna tough out the heat as long as I can.

Is the bead just to attract attention from afar in stained water?

Hit the spillway this morning for a little fishing tournament. Had 8 lbs by 10 and could never catch another keeper after 10. We have day 2 tomorrow and we plan on doing the same thing tomorrow.

Launched outta Lafitte. Ran to GI and fished islands in the bays. Left around 11 with 32 keepers on plastic. Didn’t light them of fire, but it also wasn’t a terrible day. A few big trout mixed in with 12-14 inchers.

It is to keep the lure quick change swivel from jamming into the end of the rod guide if I retrieve all the way. Where I fish sometimes I need a quick full retrieve

I generally only fish in clear water

I did the same. Very rarely do I say it’s too damn hot to go fishing.

Went to the Sabine River today. Caught about a dozen or so bass, and about the same amount of bream. All in about two hours of fishing. Wasnt too hot while we were fishing, but by the time we picked up, it was getting there.
