Sams Tires
For those of you who have bought tires from Sam's, what does the total installation cost look like disregarding the price of the tire? I'm getting my quotes together today. Thank in advance.

re: Sams Tires
$12/tire which includes lifetime of the tire free rotation and repair.

Eta: I think you can opt out and only pay the tire cost plus taxes for a standard mount and balance, but you get no free rotation or tire repair obviously.

Yes, you have to be a member to buy tires at SAMS.

re: Sams Tires
Most dealerships use tires and oil as loss leaders. Mine, does $14 oil changes and 10% over cost on tires so all of our autos get shoes at dealership. You just have to say no when they want to sell you a $40 air filter unless it's your wife.

re: Sams Tires
I bought my current set from Sams, bfg all terrains. They were hands down cheaper than the other shops I priced around at. The only thing I disliked about the experience was I had to briefly bicker with them because I wasn’t putting the tire size my truck called for. I do my own rotations and such so can’t vouch for that.

I’ve purchased several sets of tires from Sam’s and Costco. A downside is they are not supposedly to install anything but stock sized/rated tires. On my last set I went +1 so Sams wasn’t an option. I got a quote from the dealership while getting an oil change. The dealership crushed Tirerack on price (the install was a push).

re: Sams Tires
Not sure if true, was told Sam's and Wal Mart sell a different version of tire due to the bulk amount they buy the tire while being the same tread and name is not the same quality as others. Once again not sure how true but food for thought.

I like how some of y’all will buy thousands worth of new tires, but won’t pay an annual $45 Sams Club membership. Just eat pizza and hot dog a few times at $2 and you can call it even.

re: Sams Tires
My last truck, I bought tires from Sams, Michelin's, paid like $700 (back in 2007) and had them on the truck till 2015 with about 75000 miles on them. Sams does free rotation so I would take it in and have that done while shopping.

re: Sams Tires
I get trying to save money...seriously I do but why would anyone go to a place that doesn't know jack about tires?

I recommend and have recommended Discount Tire all the time and I haven't bought tires from anyone else except DT in over 30 yrs; why? Bc tires and wheels is all they sell and not one time did they ever try to upsell me and until I'm happy, they're not happy.

re: Sams Tires
Went over to sams last night and with the cheapest pirelli for my truck the total cost would have been $700. For that price ill just go to discount tire. Too many bs charges. However i will still enjoy the hotdog combo from over the counter

That depends. Not sure on Sam's but for Walmart, they do have the inhouse brands that are cheaper.

But they also have an online site (just like Tirerack), you can shop tires by brand and make, it has the exact same SKU number, and they ship it free to the Walmart of your choice.

I opted for Walmart over Sam's, because it was closer to my house (initial install), and I'd have a lot more options if I ever needed road hazard. Put some Coopers on my truck at a price that destroyed most other places. $200 less than had I bought off Tire Rack for a full set of 4.
