Getting the ultra-light ready as well as my fiberglass "cane"pole. Looks like the weather will not cooperate for a while.

I've been searching for them in Tickfaw River for a few years now.

Never found a consistent bite or brought home more than a handful at a time.

Me and my friend Sam used to catch quite a few of them. We used to launch at Somme's on Highway and head into a complex of pipeline canals that were owned or leased by something called Golden Ranch. The canals were posted and shut down. I have also done fairly well in the Gulf Canal area off Lake Salvador. I had one great trip on a Super Sunday. I had some live grass shrimp and tore them up in a dead-end canal. I am looking to go to the Bayou Black area which I have never fished; the word is that is the place to go.

I haven't been able to find any yet. The water temp needs to get up about 5 degrees consistent for them to move where I catch them

Still stacked up by the dam? That's a fun bite when it's on.

I would imagine. All I got was a picture of an ice chest lol. I'm not sure if he's spider rigging or using his livescope. I'll try to find out...

Found some by accident this weekend. Was bass fishing throwing a chart/white spinnerbait and came home with a few good Sac a lait.

ETA... Also found some baws Christmas trees. You better believe I'll be hitting those things in the coming weeks.

Was hoping this would happen where we were, but no. Nothing but bass.

They are White Crappies.

Perch are members of the walleye family, crappie is bream family.

Sacalait is a White Crappie, but everyone defaults to perch which isn't correct though everyone knows what you mean
