When would the rut occur between Columbia and Chatham?

Weekend before Thanksgiving, give or take a couple of days. If I had to pick one week to hunt Jackson Parish, it would be the week of Thanksgiving.

Get on one of the Facebook pages for whitetail in Mississippi and look at deer killed last year a lot of people will post areas. It’s a pretty good indicator when you see mature deer killed in that area.

To be honest, ask a very local older guy near the area if you’re new. Rut maps will not tell you pin point accuracy like they can. It flat out just varies to much in a given area.

I swear it seems that the rut occurs in our area (9 Louisiana) after the season. Every year I see more spotted fawns in late October.

Not much of a hunter but if understand you, it seems like you're asking about he CSRA area.

Though I don't hunt much anymore it appears to be starting now. I like to ride back/dirt roads. I have noticed just this week that bucks are trailing does.

ETA: Funny you mention it because I have a younger friend that has a perpetual hardon for anything involving hunting of any kind. I asked him, I believe it was yesterday, if it seemed early....Seems like I remember it being mid to late November in the past.

I can't pull it up right now, but LDWF has a map showing rut dates around the state.

I just put in my area out of curiosity and it was dead on when we always see peak activity.

Same here, I took a weeks vacation, for the week it said Peak Rut for here. Seen 40+ deer, and the evening hunt before the peak, I had 5 bucks chasing doe’s, around the stand.

We always see more deer the 7-10 right before peak breeding. Checking, strutting around, eating to get ready, etc has had more luck for us than actual chasing and breeding

Same here. I’m in north area 9. I wish they would push the season back a month.

That chart is nowhere close to being correct for Henry and Dale counties in Alabama. The rut is late January.

Week of Thanksgiving with another right after the first of the year.

Seems the three best times to kill a deer, is first week of the season, thanksgiving week and the week after New Years.
