Rut Activity in Spillman-West Feliciana Area?

We've seen very little rut activity off of spillman around the Mississippi line. Killed a few decent bucks that stunk a little, and found a few scrapes in the past couple weeks. Anyone in the area seen hardcore chasing yet?
Afraid we may go another season without a defined rut where we see deer chasing heavy for a few days straight.

I’m in Laurel Hill so just a few miles from Spillman. Sunday-Thursday they chased hard. Saw lots of it.
My neighbor who hunts a big piece that stretches from the state line to Spillman said they were seeing chasing a week or 2 before I ever really saw any.

Right by Laurel Hill as well. Buddy shot a nice 12pt this afternoon around 4:30 chasing hard.

I’m also in Laurel Hill area, between Christmas and now have seen some noses to the ground on bucks, but no real chase, haven’t been able to hunt as much as I should.
Opted to go to Atlanta last weekend instead of hunting, so I might have missed some of the better activity. The 27th of December to the 7th of January is historically when our best days are

Seeing some activity in west Feliciana parish yesterday and today. Shot a 198 lb 7 pt (heavy horns, 4.5 yo) this morning that was trailing a doe. He looked and smelled like in full rut. Moved stands to look for a doe or hog and saw a small 8 pt running and grunting nose to the ground. Other hunters saw some small bucks looking and grunting. I think it will get better this week but going to warm up so that likely means more night time activity!

Which one of y’all jackasses in Laurel Hill shot a deer in the dick?

Uh what?
I’ve heard more shots this weekend than all year.

Shot an 8pt yesterday, was dragging his back leg. Had been shot through the dick and exited the back of his leg

Just had a doe run across Hwy 61 between La 421 and the stare like. I hit the shoulder and stopped and waited. Wasn’t long a big 6 ran out and stopped on the shoulder of the highway. He turned around and ran back in the woods.
Looks like there is still some chasin
