Ida royally fricked us for the upcoming teal and big duck season. Sucks too was seeing really good teal numbers around my spots in Venice. I was hoping we’d catch a break after last year with how active last hurricane season was but I guess I was wrong

Maybe you can start a “Gofundme” to help you travel west. I’m sure you will get some sympathy.

Hopefully this is the biggest thing you lost.

Others lost alot more than their duck season.

It is outdoor board and people are downvoting a post about the marsh getting jacked up and losing duck feed

There are bigger things to worry about than the 20 teal that might fly over your spot

It's not duck food unless ducks come down to eat it, and ducks haven't been coming down in decent numbers for years.

It was already going to be a down year with the conditions in the prairie pothole region. No telling what our teal numbers will look like considering most of the blue wings come out of the Dakotas.

And Outdoor Board or not, it just seems like an odd thing to be worried about with everything else going on down there.

They’ll be back, they flew to the Texas coast to ride out the storm. Teal will be shot in Venice on September 11.

Given how much of the growing season remains, IF, IF, IF we can keep another storm out of SE La, you're very likely to see fair amount of regrowth in SAV/food, marsh grass, etc.

It's the ones like last year in late October that are a kick in the junk

Big ducks maybe... but teal havent stopped coming down.

And for folks who have family traditions etc on the coast, it is something to think about and discuss on outdoor board

I understand the loss associated with the storm. There are about 20 threads on the OT for that discussion

This is why I don't hunt anymore. It just sucks compared to 25-30 years ago. Not worth the hassle and expense

I live in lockport la - our entire community is lost. But in all of that wreckage and destruction, i would like to come on here and read about hunting and fishing to get my mind off the destruction. So, if someone wants to post about hunting and fishing, please dont discourage. No need to be assholes.

I have a lease in Bayou Black. Our vegetation was lookin as pristine as i've seen it in years. I was hopefull for a great duck season. We have a house boat out there. I'm sure its destroyed. I'll get out as soon as i can and post.

Sorry all of the pansy's are too worried about crying for their neighbor than to talk hunting on an outdoor board. We lost our season last year in SWLA so I know the feeling.

the teal always get displaced from the storms but come back. Not that there aren't larger worries at the moment.

Which is the point, really. Nobody is being a "pansy" and wanting to "cry over their neighbor". Simply pointing out that duck season is an odd thing to be worried about 3 days after one of the worst storms in the history of the state just tore SELA a new one.

Sela duck hunting outside Venice and a pocket of Delacroix is toast regardless…The feed is gone, doesn’t matter if the ducks one down anyway. Had a bang out year in SWLA after two storms last year, meanwhile Delacroix lease had a bunch of mergs
