For the last 12 years I’ve managed to befriend a wise old fella Born in Bossier City some 76 years ago. He lived just a mile or so from deer camp. He and his trusty sidekick Bocephus went everywhere together. 5 years ago he lost his high school sweetheart to cirrhosis.
He’s beat skin cancer. Stomach cancer. Colon cancer and two bouts of Covid.
Well he didn’t escape pneumonia and a heart condition.
He’d always come to camp and sit by the fire. Eat our gumbo and jambalaya. When he got sick a few years ago I cooked for him in his kitchen. Was a great evening.
I’ll be headed up to Arkansas tomorrow to pay my deepest respects.
Air Force vet and one great friend. One hell of a hunter.

RIP Mr P

Lost me neighbor friend last year. He was about the same age. One of the first people living in Metairie when alot of it was woods. He had some great stories. Including someone who had a pet mountain lion that choked on something and died. Someone with boh bros at the time they were building the super dome buried it underneath poydras.

RIP.

The older generation could teach our youngsters quite a bit about toughness, perseverance, and dedication to the job at hand.
Sorry for your loss brother!
