I don’t have a truck, I have a 2017 pathfinder and it is basically a unibody minivan with 4wd.

However, I’ve taken it in some pretty serious trails in galax Virginia , through a couple creeks and out in the sand at cape hatteras (including the narrows getting to cape point)

I don’t get stuck often because II know the limitations with this pathfinder that the old ones would easily make it through.

What are your experiences with these things? IAnyone like them? I will not buy the $300 maxtrax.

I would just get some sort of winch. Isn't there one you can hook to a hitch?

They'd probably just get pushed down into China in the mud around here, but would be good in the sand

I can tell you I have used the metal ramp off the trailer I pull my tractors around on the drive my tractor out when it gets stuck. That thing would work just like one.

Of course if you are buried you are too late to use that.

Maybe for sand, dont see it helping much after it gets caked with wet gumbo. Only hope then is a winch or tow strap & buddy's truck. Been there, dont want to go back.

Seen them used for:

Bridging
Mud
Sand (air down to 12-15 is still ideal)
Leveling up.

All with trucks on you tube that are way more 4wd worthy than mine.

I buried my truck to the body last month at the deer lease. 2 trucks couldn't get me out. Ended up using a big come along. My arms were tried but it worked.

In La, a winch, decent tires, extra line for winch or anchor. I’ve been stuck twice this yr already, winch saved lots of time since I’ve no one to call/no one I want to call.
