I dont know the exact years or mods
I personally know of two owners who recently had there truck broken into.
There is a recall defect that if you repeatedly punch 0 on the keypad, the door will unlock.
Just an up, google it.....

Wow. Would be curious to hear if others here can replicate on their trucks

Pretty sure this thread might do more harm than good

Headed to the Wal-Mart right now, then over to the mall.

I don't use the keypad on mine, but will test this out and report my findings.

Sounds like some BS my mom would share on FB.

And how do they know the "key pad method" was used? They sat there and watched them? Fords are easy to slim Jim. You didn't even provide a link. I didn't find anything on a quick Google search. I call bullshite.

Can you provide some solid info on this? Because this rumor surfaces every couple years and is just that, a RUMOR.

Hmm. Sounds dangerous. Maybe I should just...

Did that.
I see no results about keypad recalls relating to pressing 0 repeatedly. Some recalls involving door locking issues in sub-freezing temps, but nothing about the keypads themselves being easily hacked.
Can you post a link?

I use my keypad all the time. Sounds BS but I'll check

Just pressed it rapidly, over 60 times, on my 2013 and it didn't unlock my doors.

You have to push it a minimum of 70 times.

I know some dealers use their zip code or phone number to program all trucks on their lots
If you don't reprogram it once you own it, they could go around trying those codes and break in.
That's more plausible to me.

I know some people who have had their trucks broken into because of their fobs were hanging up on the inside of their house too close to the truck in the driveway. All they have to do is put your hand on the handle and pull and it opens the door keep your fobs for away from your truck
This is for the new keyless entry and keyless start models.

I actually tried this years ago on my '05 F-250 when I originally heard about this. And yes, the repeated 0's did unlock the door.

It only affects Platinums

Well good thing I'm an OT baller and have an extra one in the extra garage.

Any vehicle with keyless entry is easy to break in to. They jimmie it through the keypad somehow. Had a cop buddy tell me never to buy any vehicle with keyless entry.

It was on the news a few nights ago, so I am assuming it is legit. I dont remember which exact vehicles they were talking about.
