How do you/have you handled douche bag/ political coaches in Rec league? My 17 yr old daughter has played since 12u. Had to sit out 2 yrs with health issues. I coached her teams the years we played but when we came back another coach had stepped in so I offered to be assistant. No problem. Dude is very political. All his daughters buddies play every inning of every game all season. Undoubtedly, they are players of inferior talent and experience. I’m not saying my daughter is all world but she is a B+ lefty pitcher and A grade first base, outfielder and understands the game. She has not made an error in 10 games. Yet others are out there missing simple ground balls, throwing to wrong bases etc. We have an A+ pitcher so I have no qualms with my girl not getting the lions share on the mound but the rest I just don’t get. She ends up platooning with the same three girls in the outfield and gets to pitch about 2 innings per game. It’s Rec and for fun and development but that is not this dudes objective. His daughter threw a fit because she sat out 1/2 inning on game and it’s like he has a hard on for all the skinny blondes. It’s tough for me as the assistant to say something. There are a few others who don’t fit his “ mold” that get crapped on. He’s very arrogant and never asks for input on anything. I try to take a very subordinate role and do the trivial things and not over step the bounds. Being a former head coach this is tough because I can clearly see several players he doesn’t give opportunities and plays out of position. Just looking for some advice other than PIHB and duking it out at Sonic.

Probably would have directed them to the OT board before “knuckle-checking” time

she is 17 its too late for her to make the major league.

if she is having fun, the keep playing. If she isn't then stop.

This has nothing to do with YOU.

Let her decide.

She loves to play but this guy has robbed her of the joy.

If you’re gonna go that route, 17 is legal in La.

Brah, you should take this to the OT. That's where the best advice is dispensed

She’s old enough to handle that on her own I mean she’s almost a voting adult. What you should have taught her to do or teach her now is that life sucks and she has two choices. She can tell the coach she ain’t paying if she ain’t playing, or she can just suck it up and be miserable.
But this is not HS or college it’s supposed to just be a fun game played to have fun and if she’s not having fun then she needs to address it.
But let her handle it, it’s a good exercise on how to deal with workplace adversity.

I thought you were going to talk about the guy that's constantly whining in our beer league.
