very solid value and quality. I have seen this S&W 1911 in the 950-1050 range.

They're good guns. For that price, there's a lot of good guns though. I don't have any personal experience with them as far as performance. I think bapple has one, so he'll be able o tell you all about it.

SOLID 9+
I like it. The scalloped slide is a plus for me. I also like the external extractor....Sorry John Moses Browning.

I can't remember the DPI on the front strap. I think it is 20 or 30. It may bite your fingers a bit. It will have better machining/less sharp edges than the SA from what I have read...

If S&W made that SS pistol with the bob-tail and not in the Scandium frame....This Glockerizer would own it.

That's an understatement.

The OP will get no less than 4 paragraphs.

Cheap and easy to swap out...The S&W is a solid buy for sure. You can't go wrong with a springfield either...I own a couple but I think in this side by side comparison I give the win to the S&W

I think you'll like the features of the S&W over the meh of the SA.

I prefer the looks of the skeletonized trigger and the black accents but that's just me.

The only thing I don't like is the warning label on the side. Great gun , best slide serrations in the game

If you get a Springfield, get one w NM stamped on it.
NW Springfields have the final fitting done in the USA.
Other Springfields are final fitted in South America.
