Question for the Bass Fishermen!

If I keep a fish in a live well for about 4 hours is it possible for him to shrink in size?? (In length)

I'd say if he was 20" right when you caught him, he will have shrunk about 4" in 4 hours and lost at least a pound

I wouldn't think so. I've kept fish that were barely barely keepers, and then been checked by green jeans way later and they still be good.

I wouldn't think they would in a live well. Once on ice though, they can shrink a tad.

Yes, they can shrink a little (like 1/10th of an inch). Especially if you throw a bunch of ice in there and take em on a rough boat ride. Lake Fork trick.

If you have one that is just over the slot limit you better measure it before bringing it in.

Live fish -- no.

Dead fish -- yes.
