Question about truck engine programmers

I have a 2012 Silverado with the dreaded cylinder deactivation. I want to delete this feature. It would also be nice to have an engine trouble code reader. Can anyone recommend a handheld scanner/tuner that will allow me to delete 4 cylinder mode and also read check engine codes?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Can't help with the programmer, but found this hack for fault codes recently:
If you have a car/truck with a digital odometer, turn the ignition on/off quickly three times, the third time leave in on position, and the odometer will flash any fault codes. Google the fault codes and problem solved.
I know it works on my Dodge, Chevy and Lincoln.

Hypertech max energy programmer will turn that feature off. It will also do the diagnostics

I had a hypertech for a 2015 sierra with 5.3. Superchips tuner is good too, my buddy has one for his F150 with 6.2 engine. Check autoanything.com

Diablo i2 - depending where you get it they can add a custom tube - Moes Performance

Doesn't work on fords.
Op why don't you like the deactivation? Just curious.

Got my 6.2L in my Yukon tuned by Engine Power Systems, who is the former owner of Thunder Racing. Got a DOD delete along with a light engine tune and a transmission tune. Better throttle response, shifts faster, and best of all, doesn't go into V4 mode.
The displacement-on-demand system is the Achilles heel of an otherwise reliable and bulletproof motor. It adds an unnecessary layer of complexity and all but guarantees you will drop a lifter around 100k miles.
To the left is a standard lifter and to the right is a DOD lifter. That spring is compressed every time the vehicle goes into V4 mode. Over time that spring gets weak and eventually breaks. Then the heads must come off to fix the issue which is $$$.
To the OP, you can also do a full DOD delete if you're brave enough. Texas Speed has everything you need to do the delete (you can even change the cam if you wanted). Know that this is different from turning it off electronically - you're actually replacing the points of failure and guaranteeing much more life for your motor.
Texas Speed - DOD Delete

Hold odometer button down, turn key to on or start, continue holding for about 7 seconds, gauge cluster will sweep the needles then enter diagnostic mode. There you can view the info being sent to the gauge cluster from the PCM as well as some OBD codes. Cycle through the info by pressing the odometer button.

Bapple pretty much answered that and more. The fuel savings with it aren't worth it to me, IF I'm really saving any fuel. I'd rather have just a little peace of mind. My truck is a '12 with only 42k on it. I bought it with 32k on it and it's the closest thing to new I've ever had by far. As far as I'm concerned I'll drive this thing for 10-15 more years. If I'm going to spend the money it would be wise to get one that can read engine codes. I may or may not change shift points in the transmission, but I doubt I program for more power.
