Problem with closed face reel

Bought a cheap closed face reel from Academy today. After 5 casts, it will no longer reel the line back in. While knowing nothing about reels, I've taken it apart and tried to fix it myself...no luck. Watched some youtube videos...no luck. Any advice on how to get it to reel back in the line or should I just take it back?

Take line off reel.
Put reel back together.
Put reel back in box.
Drive to Academy and return.

What brand is it? I ask, because the only closed face reel you should be buying is a Zebco 33.

Ok, to seriously answer your question. Yes, I'd just take it back and get a good spinning reel if you dont have the space or time to practice with a baitcaster

My kids got a couple zebco 202's for christmas and they're better than I thought they would be.

Just lay pointer of left hand across the line as it goes in. Even the cheapest piece of crap will work darn near forever.
