Problem: birds above the boat lift at the camp

We are the only camp on our canal with a covered boat lift so of course the birds just sit up there and shite all over the boat. I take care of the problem when i am there with a flounder gig but that's only a few days per week. Anyone have any good recommendations on stuff I can put up on the rafters to prevent birds from ever being up there? Whoever recommends and posts a link to the winning product gets a drink on me whenever we meet, and yes I'm drunk, cool story bro, and I'm mad

get you some toy rubber snakes and maybe an owl decoy. We've had good luck with them, they keep the "mud daubers" from building nests around our place.

If you put a owl up, hang it by a string the movement will help. I have heard the snakes do a good job to keep the birds away.

Simple solution I learned of this past weekend. Tie some fishing line going from pylon to pylon at different heights, kind of like caution tape. The birds won't fly under or over it. This dude swears by it and said fake owls and shite don't work.

I'll second Bleeding purple's deer netting. I used an old ripped cast net and it's horrible to look at...spiders/webs everywhere...but no birds on the rafters. Good luck

Trap a BobCat.
Those Sea-Gulls will leave tout-suite.

the mono trick works like a champ. did it above our roof we use to catch rain water. go to the local tackle shop and see if they have old spools of 70 lb ish. weave it back and forth as needed.

there is some stuff you can get from a feed store that comes in a tube like caulk. You put a bead of it down where the birds land. It burns there feet and makes them stay away.

I've had good luck using an owl decoy.
I've also heard the mono trick but havent tried it. I have seen it used at restraunts with outdoor eating areas though. They string it up high to keep the gulls out.

Get some CD's and tie a string from the rafters and let the cd's hang and blow with the wind.....

I have seen the CD's hanging before but have no direct experience as to whether they work or not. Seems like the reflect light would annoy the birds and keep them away.
