This is a black crappie.

I know white are more prevalent but not sure of the difference in sizes.

They’re doing DNA test to make sure that it is a black crappie.

The old records showed a 6 lb white crappie caught in Westwego canal back in the day


I heard that the guy who certified it was known to get pretty sauced and called it a white crappie but was actually in fact a gaspergou
