I've never fished with either and they are probably booked but chad peterek or jay Watkins would be my choice. I would be interested to hear anyone's opinion if they have used them before.

What kind of fishing are you wanting to do? Artificial lures, live bait, wading, staying in the boat? All of those are questions that will need to be answered before a proper recommendation, some guides do a little of all, most great guides specialize in certain areas. Jay is a great friend and the best guide on the coast imo, but he is only going to wade fish with artificial lures. Not sure what your stance might be on catch and release but many (all the good ones) guides have self imposed C & R for trout in the middle coast after the recent freeze. With some more info I can recommend several guys, unless your going during the week a lot will already be booked.

Bro, you ain’t booking Jay Watkins 3 weeks out ever. He is a living legend and is booked in his 2 locations that he fishes throughout the year a loooooong time in advance.

Captain Jay Nichols is good. His cell is (361) 813-4120. He’s on the mainland in the Rockport area but y’all can figure it out.
