The game warden/no license thread has a few responses of the Shoot Shovel and Shut up variety, when is it appropriate to condone poaching? Do they have to be famous hunter or kill a monster buck or is it any poaching? I recall a few threads on OB absolutely demolishing Bracket/Busbice and that kid who killed that high fence deer. Whats the OB official stance on it. I,Joebuck, disavow all poaching activities as it hurts the sport and continue to say so.

Is picking wild oysters by hand off the bank poaching?

It's never OK but i'm more sympathetic to a guy who poaches a doe over a guy who poaches a monster buck. Hell, he may only be shooting the buck because it was the first thing that walked out and he needs food but it's still the perception of it.

As long as you eat them, shooting passerines is ok.

When its a kids first deer is a prime example. If a kids first deer is a doe out of doe season whoop di do. If its an adult the only way would be preventing him or his family from starving and that deer being their only chance at surviving(think stranded in the wilderness)

In instances like Brackett and that idiot family of Busbices throw the book at em and give them a cell with some 300lb dude named Tyrone that has a 12' pecker and an affinity for raping other men

I hate poachers. I was also one of the ones in the other thread that told the guy to just shut up and move on.

There's also a big difference between shooting a legal deer without a license with permission of the landowner in the hunting season, and shooting an animal without permission or shooting an animal for your own bragging rights.

Guy that shoots a deer in his back 100 acres for meat once a year is not as bad as the guy that shoots a monster buck at night under a flash light to show off with. Yes they are both poaching and against the law, and I have no issues prosecuting both.

I put poaching on the same level is building giant fences to keep the publicly owned wildlife from leaving your property.

aren't you supposed to push all the deer out before fencing?

No. That would require someone to bring in farm raised deer, which is even worse than having a fence.

The OBs official stance is it needed another year, and should have been shot with a Tikka 7mm-08 or bigger at inside of 250 yards with a 16x 50mm scope on public land, cause poaching is wrong.
