What app do you use to mark deer stands, food plots, etc on your deer lease/property? Is there a way to drop multiple pins on your maps app?

I downloaded onX, seems pretty legit so far. I don’t pay at this point, but started marking stands this past weekend and seems pretty good.

OnX will do this and much more. The paid version is worth every penny, and you can get a good deal on field supply for a yearly code every other week or so.

ETA: I think ‘Randy’ is good for like 20% through their website.

I use Google. You can save your maps offline. Works well on my android.

Nothing against onx but by the time I tried it I had all my pins set in Google so it was easier to just stick with Google

x2 to this. I use OnX a ton especially during bow season and turkey season on NF public land around me. Its a time saver for sure and helps a bunch to narrow down spots that you will want to investigate and let you see spots that you'll want to avoid. And all before you even have to make the first boot print. Nothing will ever take the place of wearing out some boot leather but OnX will definitely help you out

Thanks for all of the replies! Going to download OnX now. I have 5-6 stands hung and I’d like to see them all on one map page.

I use scout look. I am not tech savvy and this seems very easy and accurate to use

Elite onX user here, If your area has spotty coverage just download the maps. The land owner overlay is the best I've found. I've gone into areas for the first time with the app and felt confident that I was on the tract I was supposed to be on. I used it last season to contact a landowner to get permission to search for a deer. For long days and multiple day hunts bring an external battery or solar charger.

I’ve tried a bunch and I like the Mississippi state deer hunter the best as it allows me to setup entire club and share stand locations, check in and out, etc. plus it’s free. Lookup msues is the App Store to find it.

I use a handheld Garmin GPS for hunting, especially on public land. There's a free program that Garmin has called Basecamp. I upload all my tracks and waypoints on there and overlay it on Google Earth.

Why would you need to do this/use such an app?

Want to plot out all of my stands on a map.
Want to see how far they all are from each other.
Help determine where to hunt certain winds, mark certain trees/trails, etc

10-4. I'm still old school and app-free is the reason I asked.

I joined a new club a few years ago, and didn't have time to properly scout it that first summer. I found a couple decent looking places and marked them as my stands, but didn't see much that first year. As soon as the season was over in February, I took my GPS and 4 wheeler and found every marked stand on the club. I put like 120 miles on my bike, but had a GPS map of every trail and known stand on the club. It was easy to overlay that on Google Earth and see the areas that had the least amount of pressure, then I was able to scout those areas and find much better and more productive stands the following year. Very helpful tool. It also helps to use a GPS on public land, or when you don't want people to know how to get to your stand with trail markers.

@lowhound - that’s basically my exact same situation. I have a Garmin etrex...is that what you used? Also, is Badecamp an app thru the App Store?
