Demon - the jujubes you buy locally or langs or lis - only the langs taste good off the tree, the lis are grown for drying. there is a man in opelousas that sells large langs and a wide variety of figs - i would go there. Also, Roger Meyer in California (google jujube) is the man to buy jujubes from - we have about 10 now and they are worth buying - drought resistant and no pests.

Yea only takes them a couple years. Almost any you buy come in a 3 gal which will be 2-3 yrs old and ready to start producing.
Blueberries the same way.
On a side note, I have a satsuma that was a cull from the nursery I brought home and planted last year. It was about 2.5 ft tall. I got 14 satsumas off of it last year.

I have 4 citrus trees in my backyard and none seem to be producing all that well. The lemon produced 5 lemons last year and is now a pretty good 4 1/2ft tall, it is about 3yrs old. I have 2 satsumas, neither produced many flowers this year, and I don't see any fruit yet......same for the key lime I planted last year.
Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong? I fertilized in March with the fertilome citrus fertilizer......

I could be several things and I would be pure guessing without taking a look and I hate to steer you in the wrong direction.
That said, believe it or not, March was a little late to fertilize this year for our area. They started early. I was late as well.

Don't plant apple trees around a black walnut, it will kill them dead. Pear trees don't mind the black walnut though. I've got several pear trees down at the camp and I usually have to knock pears off them during the summer becasue the trees are about to break.

I dont have any walnut trees around me, so I'm good there. I'll have a chat with a few of my local nurseries and see what they think. Is it too late in the year to plant a tree?

No. You will have to water for a couple months if the rain slows down and it may drop any fruit it has on it now but they will be fine even if we go into a drought as long as you can get a little water in them.
