Haven't fished Delacroix in years due to moving out of state, but another forum I frequent has a picture of pilings driven. Anyone have the scoop?

Motors are frick’n up private land that is trying to be restored, so plings are being installed to protect the fragil land from the motors

That is the hero hunting club land north of pt a la hache. They’ve had their boundaries posted and access blocked forever.

Give it a year or two and the land on either side of the pilings will be washed away. Just drive around them.

Probably true, but I’ve also seen in years past where they’ve dredged to build up a small surrounding levee.

if only there were other places to fish down there. I mean, that's the only spot in the whole area to catch a fish.

Delacroix Corporation is the 8th largest landholder in Louisiana.

Much of the marsh in the Delacroix area is owned by the Delacroix Corporation. Delacroix Corporation could elect to close off all public access and anglers would be almost entirely locked out of all of Delacroix's productive waters.

The lower part of Bayou Gentilly and nearly all of Little Lake are owned by Delacroix Corporation, as is all of Four Horse Lake. Just try to get anywhere in Delacroix without running through Bayou Gentilly or crossing Little Lake.

The blocking off of Delacroix is going to force this issue into the publics eyes because blocking Delacroix off will have a profound impact on the fisherman who live in the greater New Orleans area who largely were unaffected from the Lafourche and Terrebonne closures in less populated areas of the state.

The CCA is already struggling to attract members right now because the Louisiana Landowners Association has all but hijacked the association to benefit their members which was not the original intent of the CCA.

The issue is already in the public's eyes. And the public has mostly yawned. It generates no interest outside of the angling community. With all the area to fish in this state, I don't see how you think this goes any way other than in favor of Delacroix- for now.
I don't agree with what they are doing, but I see their rationale. Good luck fighting those landowners.

that and during duck season - people know no bounds.. so many more boats prowling the shallow marsh ducks get pushed out.

That's way closer to PLH, technically is probably Phoenix.
