I was beginning to wonder if this was an age thing. I know we still had alot of em floating around the military through the mid 80's for c-rats (MCIs). I still have a box of P-38s in my attic somewhere.

Have one somewhere that I have used. Fixed blade knife also works in a pinch

Dang! Well at least you're showing them. That's the important thing. It's such a handy little thing.
Like Hammertime said, a fixed blade knife will work, but a P38 saves your blade and it takes up nearly zero space.
