Y'all have any recommendations for outdoor ranges (handguns, shotguns, rifles) near Baton Rouge?

How near? Nicks in Gramercy and Sherburne WMA in Krotz Springs. The Ascension sheriff range near Lamar Dixon is open to public a couple Thursdays a month IIRC

ETA: Sherburne has skeet throwers BYOclays

I lived out there for about 8yrs and putting a gun range on that facility isn't as easy as that. I don't see that happening but ill keep my opinions to myself.

I wouldn't hold your breath on Duplessis actually opening a shooting range at this location.

It is going to happen. There are more political shenanigans going on. I think all of that is just about settled and progress can happen.

Centerville, MS is about an hr away. Never been but my buddy goes. Laid back and you can do whatever you want. Not a large crowd like Sherburne.

Does anyone know if the new location for Hunters Run will ever happen (in Carville)?

We are building and near completion on a rifle, pistol and two story archery range off of Hwy. 1 in Plaquemine (across from Shintech). We are about month from completion on the construction.

The covered rifle station has 8 shooting lanes with concrete shooting benches. The covered pistol station has 14 lanes with shooting benches.

I believe it will be free of charge to all Iberville parish residents, and a small fee to out of parish people.

That's awesome! What is the distance of the longest rifle range?

looks like it will be 100yds from what you can see from LA-1.

The Iberville Parish Sheriff is building the range.

Same crap as Tallow Creek. You pay $10.00/hr./shooter and can't fire two consecutive shots within 30 seconds or it's considered "rapid fire". You need to put your truck in 4wd to get there, and wear hipboots to change out targets. That place is a shite hole.

The range is about 10
Miles northeast of Centreville on Hwy 33. It’s a federal range in the Homochitto forest. It’s $3 per vehicle per day. It’s 25/50/100yds
