Looking at purchasing an outdoor griddle soon. Anyone have any insight to a Camp Chef vs Blackstone?

I have the Blackstone 36” 4 burner. We cook on it probably 2-3 times a week.
I absolutely love it.

Main thing I’d say is to make sure you clean it well immediately after each use. I’ll take several paper towels, water and a dexter scraper and clean mine.
Dip the paper towel in the water and go over it completely with the paper towel under the scraper. Then coat with a thin film of oil.

I have the hard cover for mine I prefer it over the vinyl cover as I get the vinyl contributed to rust.

Check out the Blue Rino at Lowe’s or online. Has some features that other brands don’t offer. Love the grease drain and the ability to fold compact it wanting to bring to the camp for the weekend. Mine going on 2 year and I love it.

I have the Blue Rhino - we use it a lot. I think they are pretty much the same. As long as they are seasoned properly they will work great.

I am in the process of designing an outside kitchen and plan to ditch the gas grill and just have an egg and a gas griddle. Looking at 24” commercial counter top units. I did watch some videos and for a stand alone unit the black stone looks Luke it will get the job done.

Pretty much everything he said. I've got the blackstone 28". I chose the blackstone over some other brands b/c I like the grease trap in the back. I also bought the blackstone hard cover on amazon, well worth the money.

One thing I will say, when setting it up, I had some issues with the igniter. It has two rods that stick out over the burners and send a spark. If the rod isn't the exact right distance from the burner, it will not light up. All you have to do is bend the rod a little bit in the right direction.

Love cooking breakfast, cheesesteaks, shrimp, stir fry, and smashburgers on it.

The Blue Rhino has a built in hard cover that opens and becomes large shelves on the sides. Check it out and compare before you buy. You may like these options.

My blackstone is about two years old now, and has been great. Most important things are seasoning and using it often.

I got one from Sam's club. It was $100 cheaper than the Blackstone and the front panel was the stainless/aluminum as opposed to the flat black that is on the Blackstone. I've never had a Blackstone but I can't complain about the Sam's Club version.

Indytiger,

I read some reviews about the 28” model that it has some hot/cooler zones due to the 2 burners. Is this a problem? Or something you can work around?

Also, again an OLD review, it was said that so much heat escaped out the front of the unit that the knobs were too hot to use without a glove/rag. Any truth to this??

I have the 22 and 28 Blackstone

The 22 is easily transportable and just the perfect size for 4. One thing with the Blackstone is the amount of accessories available to you. Key is seasoning as others have said. After cleaning, spray some Pam or something like it. The spray cans oil won't go rancid like using a regular olive/avacado oil. And I recommend cooking with the avacado oil as it has a higher burn temp. Good luck!
