Changed oil in my truck last night and found the issue in the pic below. I think this is what is commonly referred to as the bell housing, where the transmission meets the block...Truck has 32,500 miles. I would think this should still be a warranty fix.
Big deal/not a big deal? Signs of other problems? Just get it taken care of and move on?

Run your finger over it and see if you can tell what it is. Oil, Transmission fluid, coolant, water?
Check all fluid levels - any low?
It looks like a small amount, maybe from spilling during refill? If its under warrenty, take it in and let them look at it. None of my stuff ever had has a warrenty so I'd probably keep an eye on it but not take any action unless it was showing significant fluid loss somewhere. New truck I would be less tolerant.

having trouble getting an orientation from the pic, is that the oil drain at the lower edge? Assuming no fluid levels are showing low, it wouldn't surprise me if you got some splatter from the last oil change and the "tech" wiped it off with an equally oily rag. If you had a small oil leak in the drain plug, you can also get blow back from that while driving.

Rear main seal or front pump seeping, may never get worse and may start pouring tomorrow. I'd take it in and might insist a new one installed.

I did too, and I took the pic. I'm laying under it, looking up and toward the front.
I've changed the oil myself every time and I'm very anal about not leaving any behind, especially with the 'smells' I've had from this truck....

Every truck I have owned had the same little seeping leak. Props for changing your own oil!

Using a degreaser just scrub it off and see what it looks like after a couple of weeks. Torque that bolt right there too.
Then, if it persists, roll it into the stealership.

Right. I have genuinely liked the truck. Looks good, very comfortable and plenty of power - but this is like the 5th annoying thing that I've dealt with since I got it less than 2 years ago. I don't know if I'm at the point of eliminating all the little annoyances or if this is what life will be like owning this particular truck.

I'd take it to the dealership if the warranty is for 36k. If it's a 100k warranty I'm not sure if I'd wait and see if it leaks any more.

The powertrain warranty is 5year/60,000 miles, which I would think this is a part of?

Went to check transmission fluid level… on the 8-speed there is no dipstick. In order to check the level you have to take it to the dealer who has to use “special tools”

I have the 2014 6 speed...I didn't notice that the last time I changed my oil. I do have a trans dipstick though. Getting close to 100K on it...guess it's time to change the plugs.
I can't complain on my Ram...haven't even had to change brake pads yet...just oil and filters...been a good truck so far.

Dropped it off at the dealer this morning. Service advisor said at first glance it looks like an oil leak from up above, that bell housing just happens to be the low spot where it has gathered.....we'll see.
