Do you leave your motor down, or trim it up when you drop your trolling motor and begin fishing? How does the up or down affect the boat drifting while fishing?

Down. Boat stays in line more this way. When up the wind seems to blow my back end around to much

If its deep enough i leave it down. Much more control for trolling.

Depends on the water depth I'm in, but usually down.

Use the outboard like a rudder in windy conditions. Even with a trolling motor, it can help you stay on a course.

Down unless I'm in really shallow water or in the weeds.

Down, but my is manual. I'll lift it if it is shallow. This isn't often.
