Anyone ever own a pair of the Vaprtreks from Irish Setter? Cabela's has a few different styles on sale right now, and after today's hunt resulting in wet, cold feet, I am in need of some new boots.

They also have some different styles of Rocky boots, one Danner boot, and a shite ton of Cabela's brand boots on sale.

Anyone?

I've read some reviews of the lugs wear down pretty quick, and the shoes lose their grip. Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.

Get you some Lacrosse. You might not be warm, but you should stay dry. I have yet to find a boot that keeps me warm, I have too far of a walk to my stands.

I have some I bought them very cheap on camo Fire. They are the uninsulated kind but I love em. They are really comfortable and seem like they will hold up.

Well, the cold part was more an effect of being wet. I have a pair of Lacrosse boots already, but I don't much care for them when I'm hunting terrain with more slope. Not enough support or grip for my liking.

I have a pair. Bought them for a Montana trip, so they are the insulated ones. Very light, and feel like tennis shoes. Also very warm. No break in period at all. Would buy again

I just brought some back due to Xmas gift and not exactly the right fit. Want to buy another set. Wild how this is a current thread. My only concern when looking at them was that there is a visible glue where the rubber of the sole meets the side of the shoe... RIGHT where the color changes at the seam. I wonder if this separates more easily than I want it to. Only a 6 month guarantee on damage that isn't user caused. But I'm a BIG believer in vasque and red wing as companies. Don't know much about Irish setters except that a buddy swears by his tall snake boot version of the same boot.

Also a major fan of their top lace up technology. normally have to feed each ankle lace around a peg, but I'm these boots case u jist cinch it up and it all pulls.

I just picked up a pair yesterday at Academy for $108 after tax. Not a bad deal for a boot that seems to have mostly positive reviews.

But this was one of the things I noticed fairly quickly as well. Hopefully they don't literally come apart at the seams.

Still, I compared them to the Wolverine Woodlanders, and the Vaprtrek just seemed to fit a lot better.

I have had mine for two seasons and they are comfortable and haven’t leaked yet. They have not separated at the area you are talking about (I had some dinners that did separate in a year). I have the snake boot versions and so do about 4 other guys in my hunting club. They are like wearing a pair of sneakers in the woods even with the 17 in boot height on the snake boot model. They don’t seem to pinch my ankle like my dancers did. Buy with confidence but I would say go a 1/2 a size or size larger because mine seemed to run small plus wearing thicker socks when it is cold out.

ETA: danners not dancers or dinners
