I am transitioning all my shite to Sitka. If you can afford it, why not? their stuff is quality as frick, period.

There is so much brand hate for Sitka it's ridiculous, it's like hating on the Yankees. Like it's some secret badge of honor to hate quality, comfort, and dryness (Sitka) or something.

muh, you're not a true outdoorsman if you spend money on quality shite, muh

Not sure what his discount is. He gets deals from a bunch of different companies because he works in a fly fishing shop in the summers.

nothing can preform like it in the field. I have over 40 pieces but I also have a pro portal which gives me 40% year round and during the summer they give a early bird discount and around xmas they give an additional 10% which makes buying a little easier. I'm a duck hunter and hunt close to 60 times a year having quality waterproof gear is very important.

Probably so, I think I spent like 140 bucks for both. It just has a drab green pattern. It still looks brand new and I have worn the crap out of it. Whoever made it for them did a damn good job.

Kuiu is about half the price of Sitka. The guy who started Sitka got screwed over and left to start kuiu.

I will never buy anything other than kuiu. Have worn it the last 2 yrs in MT and KS. No issues whatsoever.

The only thing I have heard about kuiu was that their rain gear is not that great.

They are keeping kuiu out of stores to keep the price down. Internet only which kinda of sucks

Also kuiu packs down to nothing compared to other brands from cabelas

You can layer and be ok with cheaper academy gear. I just love that I can wear just a shirt and sitka jacket and be warm down to 20's.

I wear an undershirt, and a short sleeve shirt under my academy parka when riding.

Their gloves do need a wool liner when riding. But honestly, all gloves do short of really high end riding gloves. And they don't breathe properly.
