Will this be enough if you have a spot lock trolling motor?

I’m in that boat right now, pun intended.

That was my last set up, this time around I scratched the power pole.

Spot lock is the bomb

I will never own another boat without dual power poles. It's a must have. For the record I also have an ulterra and running a single pole has never crossed my mind.

Hell, I’d be happy to find 1 power pole right now. Supply and demand is an issue with COVID. Spoke to power pole this morning and they said 3-6 backorder.

one power pole with no Ipilot kinda blows.
two power poles ok.
ipilot with one power pole is better.
ipilot with two power poles is probably nice, but unnecessary.

I use an anchor and catch a limit almost every time I go.

Y'all are high maintenance.

One power pole with a regular trolling motor is perfect if you’re not out in the middle of big lake on a windy day trying to stay in one spot. It does just fine for me fishing points and canals.

I had the same issue. I mostly fish marsh and didnt want to deal with selling my trolling motor so I put another power pole on. Game changer for me

I have two power poles. which is good for for shallow water 8' and under. but I wish I had a spot lock for lakes. 8' and deeper. This is my next purchase. I fish different depths and it would be great to have both. especially when I fish Toledo bend. Personally A spot lock I would purchase first. Just my opinion.

Spot Lock is amazing- I watched a guy 3 weeks ago or so at Isle Au Pitre with a 256 Blackjack- no pole down, don’t remember if he had one or not.

Bow to the wind, the waves were knocking the prop out the water- every. single. time. And it held him there.

I was amazed.

The model I ordered keeps getting pushed back by Motorguide. Really frustrating. It's the final piece to my total boat upgrade.

My last boat had 1 pole when I bought it and an I pilot. I added a second pp.. problem with it is the area I fish is soft mud so anything over 4 ft with a 10 mph wind the boat wouldn't hold.. my new boat doesn't have pp.. spot lock does all I need it to do..

Spot lock is 2nd only to a reliable outboard on my list of boat requirements these days.

Eta: to answer OP, I dont have a power pole at all and dont feel limited. One power pole is plenty good with an ipilot trolling motor.

Spot lock guys, a word of advice... Download and familiarize yourself with the Ipilot app. Last week I was in GI and after my first stop, my remote was cooked.. I kept getting errors on it and after talking to MK, They said the board was done. My trip would’ve been close to fricked if it wasn’t for the app.. it’s a little bit of a pain in da arse to us but it’ll salvage a trip until you get replacement remote.

I have a foot control now and a spare remote. I broke my remote about 5 minutes into a trip once so I have two backup plans.

frick fishing with an anchor while you have $3000 fancy arse trolling motor in the way of the rope.
