Why do turkeys love being in recent burns so much?

Well, in my opinion it makes the woods wide open so they can see, also all the fresh buds n seeds fall to the ground. They do love the fresh burns

Friday morning: took The Last Coco and his wife turkey hunting, but to failed to connect.

Friday mid afternoon: bank fishing at Valentine Lake. Caught 3 nice fish in about an hour

Saturday morning: took my bro turkey hunting, but go rained out while working a bird.
Saturday evening: fished Cotile Lake. My bro beat me 16-2 catching bass on the beds.

You and I talked, and I posted this already but whatever.

Fished Friday and it was real slow. Picked up a couple nice reds in Pelto and fished some shoreline to no avail in the only decent water around. Went way west towards Sister Lake and fished a couple little bayous where we picked up a few trout here and there while drifting the canals. Weather was beautiful and had a good time regardless. I'll be heading back out there Thursday evening.

What are you soufers or salt guys talking about when yall say "good water"? Ours doesnt really change, its either muddy after a rain or not muddy. What are you looking for when you go?

Specks are mostly sight feeders, so clear silt free water is important if you wanna catch consistently. It's always a struggle this time of the year because the wind picks up for a few days after a cold front and fricks everything up. Wind+low tide= gas money. It's extremely hard to catch trout in these conditions. Just my opinion.

Eta: obvious is obvious
